Description of  1756-A10

The Allen-Bradley 1756-A10 is ControlLogix chassis. It has Ten (10) slots, providing backplane connections and housing to ControlLogix modules. This chassis has a maximum backplane current of 1.5 A @ 1.2VDC; 4A/4A @ 3.3 VDC; 15 A/6 A @ 5.1 VDC and 2.8 A/2.8 A @ 24VDC.

This chassis supports panel mounting with installation clearances of 15.3 cm (6.0 in.) for Top and bottom clearance and 10.2 cm (4.0 in.) plus the width of the power supply for side clearance. If installed side by side with another ControlLogix chassis, the required clearance between the chassis is 7.7 cm (3.0 in.) plus the width of the power supply. ControlLogix power supplies, whether standard, slim or redundant power supplies have dedicated slot situated at the left most location and do not occupy a chassis slot.

The 1746-A10 is available in Two (2) series, B and C.
Series B chassis has an operating temperature range of 0~60 °C (0~140 °F), -25~+60 °C (-13~+140 °F) for Series C modules, while the maximum surrounding air temperature is 60 °C (140 °F) for both series.

This chassis is also provided with Functional Earth Ground that is designed to be terminated with 8.3 sq. mm. or 8 AWG solid or stranded copper wire with insulation rating of 90 °C (194 °F) or higher. It also has a Protective Earth Ground and designed to be terminated using a 2.1 sq. mm. or 14 AWG solid or stranded copper wire with insulation rating of 90 °C (194 °F) or higher.

The 1756-A10 has a backplane electrical rating of 1.5 A/1.5A backplane current between the chassis and slots (chassis/slot) at 1.2V, one of 4/4A at 3.3V, and one of up to 2.8 A/2.8 A at 24V.

It has a 5-Watt power dissipation (6.1 BTU/hr Thermal dissipation equivalent) and a maximum operational power consumption of 1.8W.

It is designated with a T5 environmental temperature code (North America), and with a T6 IEC code (European Union).

The 1756-A10 also has an open-style enclosure. It has an operating temperature between 0 and 60 °C (32 and 40 °F) at 5-95% non-condensing humidity. It has an IEC 60068-2-27 rated operational shock withstand of 30G and it can sustain a vibration of 2G at 10-500 Hz when operational.
